Turia Park
26th October, 2025 6pm
I sit here observing the people enjoying the last of their Sunday before the new week begins. Right in front of me there sits a young couple cuddling and simply enjoying each other’s company. To the right a couple of girls are trying to get the perfect shot, laughing as they try a million different poses and angles. People are walking their dogs or catching up with a friend. Kids play made up games while the adults wander aimlessly through the park. Bikes zoom by, but everything without rush. Life is enjoyed, each moment savoured. The air is fresh again after today’s rain and the light of the sun illuminates the surrounding buildings. The sound of traffic a distant hum to the presence of laughter, chatter and barking. Life is slow here, yet vividly alive. Loud yet peaceful. The streets are vibrant, a mixture of old and new, foreign and local, that don’t clash but blend together beautifully to form a singular community.
